Dubrovnik → Šipan – Lopud
Depart Dubrovnik mid-morning, navigating 12 nautical miles northwest towards the Elaphiti archipelago. Your first anchorage is Šipan, the largest island, known for its ancient olive groves and fortified Renaissance summer residences like Skočibuha. Drop anchor in a sheltered bay and enjoy a refreshing swim before a short hop to Lopud, an island blissfully free of cars. Explore the island's interior via shaded walking paths leading to Šunj Beach, a rare sandy crescent with shallow, warm waters perfect for wading. Enjoy lunch at a beachfront konoba, perhaps sampling the local black risotto, its briny flavour enhanced by the sea air. The gentle afternoon breeze is ideal for this easy passage, setting a relaxed pace for the week ahead.
Things to do
Anchor in Šipan's olive-fringed bays
Swim in the clear waters off Lopud
Hike to the sandy expanse of Šunj Beach
Dine on fresh seafood at a beachfront konoba
Mooring tip
Anchor in sand in Šipan's bays, or stern-to in Lopud harbour if space allows; limited moorings available.

Šipan → Kobaš Bay – Pomena (Mljet)
Cast off from Šipan for the 20 NM passage west to Mljet, Croatia's greenest island. Drop anchor in the tranquil Kobaš Bay, a natural harbour fringed by pines reflecting the clear sky. Take the kayaks ashore to the Benedictine abbey on St. Mary's Isle, a tiny islet within the Mljet National Park's saltwater lakes. Later, make for Pomena, the park's main settlement, and stern-to moor alongside the quay. A short hike leads to Odysseus' Cave, a dramatic sea grotto. Tonight, sample oysters farmed directly in the bay – their briny flavour is a taste of the Adriatic's ancient allure.
Things to do
Kayak to the Benedictine monastery on St. Mary's Isle
Hike to Odysseus' Cave for sunset views
Dine on fresh oysters in Kobaš or Pomena
Swim in the Mljet National Park lakes
Mooring tip

Pomena (Mljet) → Korčula
Depart Pomena mid-morning for the 22-nautical-mile passage east to Korčula town, the alleged birthplace of Marco Polo. As you approach, the formidable 13th-century walls and towers rise directly from the sea, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Moor stern-to in the ACI Marina Korčula, making use of the lazy-lines. Spend the afternoon exploring the herringbone street plan within the old town walls, perhaps stopping for a glass of crisp Grk white wine at a rooftop bar overlooking the Pelješac channel. The air is often perfumed with pine from the surrounding hills. In the evening, witness the Moreška sword dance, a dramatic spectacle depicting an ancient battle for a princess, performed in the main square. For a refreshing swim before dinner, take the dinghy to the sheltered waters of St. Anthony's Bay, just east of the town walls.
