Šibenik → Kaprije
Depart Šibenik mid-morning, leaving behind the UNESCO-listed Cathedral of St. James, its stone intricate as lacework, for the 18 NM passage west to Kaprije island. This island, car-free since 2019, offers a serene escape where donkeys still serve as primary transport. Anchor in one of the island's many sheltered bays, such as Mala Kaprije, where the seabed is a mix of sand and rock in 5-10 metres. Enjoy a swim in the gin-clear water before heading ashore to Konoba Arko, known for its authentic Dalmatian peka cooked over embers. The scent of pine and salt hangs in the air as dusk settles, a perfect introduction to the Kornati's neighbouring isles.
Things to do
Anchor in Mala Kaprije or a similar sheltered bay
Swim in the exceptionally clear Adriatic waters
Savour traditional peka at Konoba Arko
Explore Kaprije village, a haven of peace
Mooring tip
Anchor in sand/rock mix in 5-10m on Kaprije's south side; holding is good. No marina facilities, so provision before leaving Šibenik.

Kaprije → Piškera (Kornati)
Depart Kaprije this morning for the 25-nautical-mile reach north into the Kornati National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site famed for its stark beauty. The passage winds through the archipelago's 89 islands and islets, offering glimpses of ancient Roman villa ruins on Opat. Aim for Piškera, a natural harbour within the park, and drop anchor in the clear, deep water. The seabed here is ideal for anchoring, providing excellent holding. Spend the afternoon exploring the underwater world with a snorkel, or take the short hike up the ridge for panoramic views of the surrounding islands as the sun dips below the horizon. Dinner tonight is at the local konoba, serving grilled fish and octopus salad, accompanied by the scent of pine resin from the surrounding hills.
Things to do
Anchor in Piškera's protected bay
Snorkel the clear waters near the island
Hike the ridge for panoramic Kornati views
Dine on fresh seafood at the local konoba
Mooring tip
Anchor in Piškera's bay in 4-10m sand, or use moorings if available; holding is excellent. Arrive before 17:00 in season.

Piškera → Telašćica Bay
Departing ACI Marina Piškera, a 12-nautical-mile sail southeast brings you to Telašćica Nature Park, a protected bay famed for its dramatic cliffs and the serene Mir Lake. Anchor in the southern part of the bay, west of the Mala Proversa strait, in 8-10 metres of sand and Posidonia. Spend the afternoon exploring the park: paddle a kayak across the mirror-like surface of Mir Lake, a saltwater lagoon connected to the sea by a narrow channel, or take the short, invigorating hike up to the Grpašćak viewpoint for sweeping vistas across the Kornati archipelago. Later, swim through the 'hole in the rock' at the entrance to the bay, a natural marine tunnel that offers a unique aquatic adventure. The scent of pine and wild herbs hangs heavy in the air as dusk settles.
Things to do
Kayak the tranquil Mir Lake saltwater lagoon
Hike to Grpašćak viewpoint for panoramic vistas
Swim through the natural marine tunnel at Mala Proversa
Explore the charming fishing village of Sali
Mooring tip
Anchor in Telašćica Bay on sand and Posidonia in 8-10m. No services available; pack all provisions beforehand.

Telašćica → Veli Iž
Today's 15 NM passage east brings you from the stark beauty of Telašćica to the gentler shores of Veli Iž, an island famed for its ancient olive groves and a slower pace of life. The approach reveals secluded bays perfect for a quiet lunch stop, perhaps in the sheltered waters of Knežić bay. Once moored stern-to in the main harbour of Veli Iž, the island's charm unfolds. Hire bicycles from the waterfront and pedal towards the island's highest point, offering panoramic views across the Zadar archipelago. In the evening, seek out Konoba Stipe, where the garden setting is as memorable as the slow-cooked pasticada. Later, join the locals on the harbour wall for an authentic taste of 'fjaka' as the cicadas begin their dusk chorus.
Things to do
Cycle to the island's highest point for panoramic views
Enjoy a slow-cooked pasticada at Konoba Stipe
Experience 'fjaka' with locals on the harbour wall
Swim in the secluded coves near Knežić bay
Mooring tip

Veli Iž → Molat
Departing Veli Iž mid-morning, this 15-nautical-mile passage northeast brings you to Molat, an island that retains an authentic, unhurried atmosphere. Anchor in Zapuntel Bay, a serene anchorage fringed with Aleppo pines, where the seabed offers good holding in sand and weed. The clarity of the water allows for easy observation of the seagrass meadows below. For those seeking a more active afternoon, a hike inland reveals the poignant site of a WWII aircraft crash, a stark reminder of history amidst the natural beauty. Later, row ashore to one of Zapuntel's small konobas, where the scent of sage and olive wood embers complements freshly grilled dentex, a true taste of the Adriatic.
Things to do
Anchor in Zapuntel Bay, holding in sand and weed
Snorkel the seagrass meadows off the western shore
Hike to the WWII plane wreck in the hills
Dine on grilled dentex at a local konoba

The bay's clear turquoise water invites a refreshing swim before you explore the nearby islet of Sveti Petar, crowned by a solitary chapel offering panoramic views. As dusk settles, the scent of pine resin from the surrounding hills fills the air. For dinner, a waterfront konoba awaits, serving local specialities such as škampi na buzaru (garlicky shrimp) prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The gentle evening breeze, a typical maestral, makes for a peaceful night at anchor.
Things to do
Anchor in Sutomišćica Bay and swim
Paddleboard to Sveti Petar islet
Hike to the chapel for sunset views
Enjoy škampi na buzaru at a konoba
Mooring tip

Sutomišćica → Šibenik
Your final passage is a gentle 15 NM reach southeast into Šibenik, retracing your wake towards the mainland. Vrgada island offers a chance for a morning swim in Mala Lamjana Bay, a deep inlet perfect for a final anchor drop in sand. As you approach Šibenik, the imposing UNESCO World Heritage site of St. Nicholas Fortress guards the narrow channel entrance. Tie up at the Šibenik waterfront, the Riva, and step ashore. The air here carries the faint scent of pine from the surrounding hills. Celebrate your week's sailing with a glass of Maraschino liqueur, a local specialty, and reflect on the Adriatic's timeless beauty.
