Biograd → Vrgada
Begin your journey from Biograd na Moru, a town whose white stone architecture and mediaeval ruins offer a fitting send-off. A short 7 NM sail southeast brings you to the island of Vrgada, renowned for its car-free tranquility and sandy seabed. Drop anchor in one of the sheltered bays on the island's west coast, such as Hrvatin or Pedinka, where the water is exceptionally clear and the sand appears to glow. Enjoy a swim before dinghying ashore to the small fishing village. For dinner, seek out a local konoba like Konoba Vrgada, where you can savour a traditional brudet, a rich fish stew, accompanied by the scent of pine resin from the surrounding hills. The gentle slap of waves against the hull is your soundtrack for the night.
Things to do
Sail 7 NM southeast to Vrgada island
Anchor in Hrvatin or Pedinka bay
Snorkel over the glowing sandy seabed
Dine on traditional brudet at Konoba Vrgada
Mooring tip
Anchor in sand in 4-7 metres in the western bays; holding is good. Vrgada has no marina facilities.

Vrgada → Primošten
Depart Vrgada mid-morning for the 15-nautical-mile run south towards Primošten, a town cascading down a peninsula like a stone waterfall. En route, consider a brief stop in Ždrelac Bay on Pašman Island, where Aleppo pines meet the clear Adriatic. As you approach Primošten, the iconic vineyard terraces on the islet of Sv. Ivan will catch the afternoon sun, their limestone walls glowing honey-gold. Drop anchor in the sheltered waters north of the town, perhaps taking a dip near the terraces themselves. For the evening, moor stern-to in Primošten's small harbour, a tight squeeze in season, and ascend to one of the cliffside bars for a glass of local Babič wine. Watch the fishing boats return as the cicadas begin their evening chorus.
Things to do
Anchor near Sv. Ivan vineyard terraces for a swim
Moor stern-to in Primošten harbour
Sample Babič wine at a cliffside bar
Explore Primošten's narrow, winding streets
Mooring tip
Primošten harbour takes stern-to moorings only; arrive early in season as space is limited.

Primošten → Komiža
Today's 40-nautical-mile passage takes you west to the island of Vis, long known as the 'island of mystery' due to its strategic military past. Komiža, on the island's western side, greets you with a harbour full of weathered fishing boats and a backdrop of pastel-coloured houses clinging to the hillside. This is a destination steeped in tradition, famous for its *komiška pogača*, a savoury anchovy pie best enjoyed harbourside as the sun dips below the horizon. For a truly unforgettable view, take the short hike up Hum Hill; the panorama of the archipelago at sunset is legendary. The air here is often thick with the scent of pine and the faint brine of the sea, especially at dusk when the cicadas begin their evening chorus. Expect to moor stern-to in Komiža harbour, a common practice along this coast.
Things to do
Enjoy komiška pogača at a harbourside konoba
Climb Hum Hill for sunset archipelago views
Explore the historic fishing village of Komiža
Visit the Komiža Fishermen's Museum
Mooring tip
Komiža harbour offers stern-to mooring with good holding in sand and weed; arrive early in season as space is limited.

Komiža → Hvar Town
Depart Komiža after morning coffee for the 30-nautical-mile passage east to Hvar Town, a celebrated harbour on the southern flank of Hvar island. Expect a beam reach, possibly with the morning maestral filling in, as you skirt the northern coast of Vis before turning southeast. Hvar Town unfolds with its Venetian loggia, St. Stephen's Cathedral, and the formidable Španjola Fortress overlooking the Pakleni Islands. Secure a stern-to mooring in the town's main harbour, noting the swell generated by passing ferries. Climb the fortress path for commanding views as the sun dips, then seek out a konoba in the labyrinthine backstreets for fresh seafood, perhaps grilled squid, accompanied by local white wine.
Things to do
Secure a stern-to mooring in Hvar Town harbour
Climb to Španjola Fortress for panoramic views
Wander the historic Venetian streets and squares
Dine in a secluded courtyard konoba
Mooring tip
Hvar Town harbour stern-to moorings are exposed; book ahead in season or anchor off if conditions permit.

Hvar → Maslinica (Šolta)
Depart Hvar mid-morning for the 20-nautical-mile passage north to the island of Šolta, a landscape of ancient olive groves and quiet charm. Aim for Maslinica Bay on the island's western tip, a sheltered anchorage protected by the 17th-century Martinis Marchi castle, now a hotel. Drop anchor in the clear, calm water, the seabed a mix of sand and rock. Spend the afternoon exploring by kayak, perhaps paddling to the small sandy cove at Čikat. In the evening, dine ashore at a family-run konoba in Maslinica village, sampling local specialities like soltinski šokol, a sweet treat. Enjoy a glass of rožulin, the local rose liqueur, as the sunset colours the bay and the cicadas begin their evening chorus.
Things to do
Kayak to the sandy cove at Čikat
Explore Maslinica village and its castle
Dine at a local konoba for Šolta specialities
Enjoy sunset drinks on deck
Mooring tip
Anchor in Maslinica Bay in 5-10m sand/rock mix; holding is good. Village quay can be busy.

Maslinica → Šibenik
The 25-nautical-mile passage north to Šibenik rewards with a UNESCO World Heritage site: St. James Cathedral, a masterpiece of stone lacework. After mooring stern-to at the city's waterfront promenade, take a taxi inland to Krka National Park. Here, the Krka River cascades over travertine barriers, forming spectacular waterfalls like Skradinski Buk. Swim in designated areas beneath the roaring falls, feeling the cool spray. Return to Šibenik for a stroll along the Obala dr. Franje Tuđmana, perhaps sampling local fritule from a riverside vendor as the cicadas begin their evening chorus. The city's ancient stone streets hold the scent of pine and sea salt.
Things to do
Visit UNESCO St. James Cathedral
Swim beneath Krka waterfalls
Sample fritule by the riverbank
Explore Šibenik's historic old town
Mooring tip
Šibenik waterfront promenade offers stern-to mooring; check depth and book ahead in high season for the best spots.

Šibenik → Biograd
Begin the 25-nautical-mile journey north, a gentle reach back towards the mainland coast, passing the western edge of Kornati National Park's gateway islets. Consider a final swim stop in one of the sheltered coves on the eastern shore of Otok Vrgada, perhaps Uvala Pedinka, where the water is exceptionally clear. As the afternoon light softens, continue to Biograd na Moru and the extensive Marina Kornati. Secure your berth stern-to, using the provided lazy-lines. The marina buzzes with the quiet satisfaction of a week well sailed. For your farewell dinner, seek out Konoba Barbaric in town for an authentic crni rižot, its deep flavour a fitting tribute to the Adriatic's bounty, enjoyed under a sky rapidly filling with stars.
